Cycler Care, Child Care & The Cure: Meet Juliana

Where are you from?

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but left to live in New York when I was 10. I’ve been in Stockholm for 5 years now and feel very much at home here.

Tell us about your work at Natural Cycles.

I work in Customer Support — I started out as a Support Agent (English & Portuguese) then became Quality Manager within the Customer Support team. I use my love of writing and teaching others to assist and train our agents so they have everything they need in order to guide our Cyclers with lots of care and know-how. I also answer our Cyclers’ questions and really enjoy interacting with them.

Why Natural Cycles?

I was on maternity leave and had no intentions of looking for another job, but when I saw a position open at Natural Cycles — I jumped at the opportunity! I’m a strong believer in educating women about their own bodies, I’ve learned so much while working here, and Natural Cycles not only allows you to see your cycle in motion (the graph is so cool!) but it also provides a choice of birth control previously not available to women. The innovation and passion that I get to see flourish everyday in this company is just beautiful. I’m humbled to be a part of what Natural Cycles has to offer women.

What was your favourite project at Natural Cycles since you started?

Since becoming quality manager, I got the chance to train our newest agents. Not only did I enjoy getting to know these amazing women but I got to share information with them about Natural Cycles and the female reproductive system, which I find to be empowering topics for all women.

What’s one thing you’ve learned during your time at Natural Cycles?

I have learned so much, but the most important thing that I have learned has been how my body works, when I normally ovulate and that a positive ovulation test (LH test) does not mean you are ovulating right at that time. When trying to conceive for some time a few years back, this information would have been very much appreciated and helped immensely.

What’s your go-to place to eat in Stockholm?

I could give you a whole list since Stockholm doesn’t disappoint when it comes to good restaurants! If I had to pick one I’ve really enjoyed recently, I’d say Smak. The menu changes often and they serve small plates which you can pair with a tasting size of wine that best compliments the dish’s flavor. I love that you don’t need to decide between having either the fish or the steak, for example, when you are eating out and drooling over the whole menu trying to pick just one thing, have it all! I was in heaven there.

Favourite feature in the Natural Cycles app?

I love seeing my temperature curve on the graph! It’s so exciting to see that your cycle has its own representation on a chart.

Favourite song?

It is impossible for me to pick a favorite genre of music, much less band/artist and even less just one single song. I am a huge music fan, especially live music, and am into everything from The Cure to Purity Ring.

Tell us about your hobbies?

Current hobbies include running after a 2 year old girl that fills me up with the most perfect type of love you can imagine. It is such a cliché but I love being a kid again with her and discovering the world through her eyes once more. Besides that, I love yoga, music, and photography.
